Curated by Mee Na Lojewski and Nicholas Waters, Affinity Quartet brings chamber music into dialogue with photography. Responding to JAHM’s 2026 exhibition by exploring affinities between these two intimate art forms, the program presents string quartet works in harmony and in contrast to the photographs. 

Both art forms are shaped by finely tuned tools that guide artistic intent and invite close attention; their meanings are never fixed. Each photographer and composer offers a personal truth, and each viewer or listener completes the work through their own perceptions. In music, this exchange gains another layer: Affinity Quartet’s interpretation of a composer’s score becomes an indelible link in the chain of artistic intent.
